SAISMUN II, 2020 has been officially cancelled.
Update as of 21:00hrs SGT February 5th, 2020
Following advisories from the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Committee for Private Education (CPE), we will be cancelling large group and communal activities, and community events here at Stamford UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. This of course, includes SAISMUN. The health and safety of our participants, organizing committee, volunteers, and Stamford staff is of our utmost priority.
MOH has defined that a large group signifies a gathering of more than 40 people. Close contact refers to people who are within 2 meters and spend a prolonged period of time (30 minutes or more) with each other.
This is not the decision we anticipated, certainly not at this late stage. However, given the MOH's statement, we cannot continue with the hosting of such a large event. We are mindful that this news comes 48 hours prior to the convention and we couldn't be more apologetic. The current sentiment in Singapore is one of safety and caution. Thus, we have no choice but to follow the MOH's recommendation.
To all 15 participating schools, we hope that you consider participating in future sessions and hope to see you there! The Secretariat wholeheartedly thanks you for your patience, support, and cooperation in regards to the matter.
