The second day of debate in the Security Council presented a clash of ideas, opinions and policies, as delegates debated the best method to alleviate the conflict at the Sino-Indian Border. The delegation of China stressed and emphasised the critical importance of clear communication to minimize the risk of further border conflicts between the two superpowers.
The delegate of the Dominican Republic Main Submitted Clause 5, which asked both nations to ramp up communications efforts in order to avoid misunderstandings and to prevent conflicts. The same delegate also recommended that officers on both sides. This clause passed with flying colours in committee, and has been entered into the resolution.
